We were camping at Kick Back and Camp in Bellington WV right beside Audra State Park. I googled good restaurants near me and we went!! The little town and I mean little, is just gorgeous, the history of town is written everywhere around the town. In 1871, just 32 people were living in the settlement, which gradually attracted new residents from various parts of the U.S. as well as directly from Switzerland. This restaurant is exactly the same as it was when it was built. It leans, it creaks, but it’s pure history! Inside is all period pieces from tables stoves, kitchen ware, chairs and everything inside. Look at the floor, it’s so interesting. I loved the coal stoves in the rooms. The food…oh the food. It’s different but delicious. We had a great Swiss cheese plate, with cheese being made there, the side of sauerkraut is a do not miss, as is the side of home made applesauce, which I detected some lemon rind was to die for!! You will feel it when you go! She ask if we had a reservation, but one wasn’t required. I’d suggest calling before you go, it’s a pretty remote drive in but what a great mountain ride!

Absolutely incredible. We came for our anniversary in October and they happen to serve the sample on Saturday's through October. It was all so delicious. Probably the best meal in a long time. Atmosphere inside is so neat as well

Very unique and cozy atmosphere. Felt like eating at grandma's house. The food was excellent and service was good too. Well worth the drive!

We stopped here for a snack & drink on our way to Snowshoe. Such an adorable place. We sat on the deck & enjoyed a fruit & Swiss cheese tray with Arnie Palmers. The staff was so nice!

Unlike anything you'll ever experience. I've heard people say that this cozy restaurant is more authentic than some of the food stops in the Swiss Alps. There is so much history and culture on display here. You have to try the cheese, apple sauce, and bratwurst. I wasn't a huge fan of their homemade sausage. Maybe I got it on a off day but it was dry.

Drove down from Morgantown just to try this restaurant and see the area. Not disappointed in either. My wife and I split the roast beef over noodles. The dinner was $25 and included a fresh salad, bread basket, and a small plate of local made Swiss cheese. It also came with fresh green beans, a side of homemade applesauce, and an amazing side of sauerkraut (almost sweet and not so tart). All for $25. We also added a side of fried finely sliced potatoes. Almost like a potato pancake. It was an additional $5 (and worth every penny). I had a brewed sweet tea ($2) and my wife had water. As I said, we split the meal and literally could not finish it all. Bread basket and cheese plate not pictured. Met a couple there who had driven up from Charleston as a day trip also. They had split a sandwich plate and said they loved everything too. Wonderful staff. Very attentive.

I absolutely love the area, came back in May but they were sadly closed. I came back through finally (Nov.8) and was able to get a Sampler. Everything on my plate was absolutely delicious. I dont think Ive eaten so fast in my life because it was so good. I was up looking around at the cool stuff on the walls and ready to pay when my waitress told me I still had a dessert coming! The whole place was absolutely stunning with artifacts, fasnacht masks, and steins. The staff, the staff were the best I could have hoped for. They were all very attentive, answered any questions I had and were a blast to talk with. Dont wait until youre "in the area", make it a point to travel out there for the food, friends and history of the whole town. The Hütte has with out a doubt became my favorite restaurant in Wv.

Heard about this restaurant and the town. We decided to make the 3 hour drive and we were not disappointed! The Swiss cheese was so soft and mild...best I've ever tasted. The hot mustard served with my food was the best I've had since Vienna, Austria and I haven't had saurkraut that good outside of Germany. The atmosphere is crazy cool and the staff were incredibly friendly. Make sure to get a reservation beforehand and save room for dessert! The peach cobbler was out of this world. Great experience!
